Given a font (*.ttf), how will you easily pack/ compile the file into Smartphone-compatible CAB including all the font-related registry values? I?ve made a free XP utility to do all that. Meet FonTweaker XP, Windows CE font link technique / tweak made extremely convenient.

<strong>How it works</strong> (please refer to this screenshot)
1. You begin with a TTF. You drag the TTF to the designated drop zone.</p>
<p>2. Determine the typeface name of the font by double-clicking the TTF file. Typeface name is shown in green. Enter the typeface name on the designated space.</p>
<p>3. Click ?Make CAB? to compile the TTF into a Smartphone-compatible CAB format.</p>
<p>4. You can view the output file or leave it as is for future use.</p>
<p>5. You can also install the file by using the ?Install CAB? button of the utility.

<strong>IMPORTANT REMINDERS:</strong>
This freeware comes with no warranty. Kindly use this at your own discretion. Should you opt to proceed, consider the following?
<strong>A. REQUIREMENTS:</strong>
1. Windows XP (tested on XP Pro SP2, English language only)
2. TTF (True type font, open type font)
3. ActiveSync program
4. Smartphone 2003 or Smartphone 2003 SE (Smartphone 2002 NOT supported as the Font Link technique will not work on 2002 units)
<strong>B. USAGE</strong> (you may also refer to the demo video)
1. Drag and drop supported a TTF to the drop zone.
2. Enter the Typeface Name of the font. Double-click a TTF to view its typeface name. Note that a file name is different from a typeface name. ?Font.TTF? could be renamed to ?Anyname.TTF? but typeface name remains the same (unless edited). Use only the correct typeface name.
<strong>WARNING:</strong>
You will mess your phone?s registry (resulting to phone not loading) if you install a CAB whose font registry value (via font link technique) does not match that of the font?s real typeface name. So type only the correct typeface name.
3. Click ?Make CAB? button when ready.
4. You can also install the CAB. Click ?Install CAB? after an output CAB is generated. Remember to restart device after a successful CAB installation for changes to take effect.
